Colors of Despair is a for-profit Danganronpa fanzine that revolves around - you guessed it - the theme of colors! We will be featuring a variety of hues, (each individual to the contributor) all in the order of a rainbow. As a result, participants will be asked to base their pieces around their assigned color for a massively colorful collection.The zine will be sold digitally as well as a 6x9 inch perfect-bound physical format (along with merch: like stickers, charms, prints, etc.) It will be SFW (Safe for Work) and will not be spoiler-free.We will have a total of around 28 page artists, 4 merch artists, and 7 writers. All official communication to our contributors will be done through our Discord server, and payment will be done through PayPal - if you are under 18, you must have a legal way to receive payment.

How many contributors will be accepted?

We currently have plans to recruit a total of 28 page artists, 3 merch artists, and 6 writers. Thank you so much for your feedback on the interest check!

What's the schedule?

How will this project be organized?

As mentioned in our About page, we will be featuring a wide variety of hues, all organized to look like a rainbow when flipping through.Artists will be asked to illustrate pieces with 80% of a hue from their assigned color.

What characters can I illustrate/write?

Any and all that appear within the Danganronpa series! We’ll be placing limits on major character appearances to twice.

Will you be featuring ships?

No. This will be a general zine and will not feature ships of any kind. You will be allowed to illustrate duos, but nothing should be explicitly romantic, e.g. kissing.

Where will the zines be shipping from?

The zines will be shipping from Canada.

How will contributors be compensated?

If we break even, contributors will get a copy of the artbook and merchandise shipped to them. All remaining money will be accordingly and evenly distributed to all zine participants.

Do I own my piece after the zine's completion?

Yes! Once the zine has been shipped out, you are free to do as you please with your piece. However, prior to shipment, please do not share your piece anywhere online unless prompted by the mods.
If you are working in collaboration with another contributor, please be sure to have their explicit permission before reselling your work.
